About SORAMI

A New World of Practice. Let Understanding Strengthen What You Feel.

SORAMI is a learning platform for classical music learners. Record a performance, and think through your strengths, or how your interpretation compares to a performer you admire. The meaning of a phrase, the role of a harmony, the story behind a piece: we think it through together, through dialogue. Even without a recording, you can explore all of this through dialogue alone.

Beyond repetition. We believe understanding doesn't replace your musical instincts. It strengthens them. Through dialogue, the ability to ask your own questions grows naturally.

Why SORAMI Was Born

The quality of music education you receive has always depended on your environment: the teacher you have access to, the resources available to you, how much time you get to sit with your own playing and think it through. "Why do I play this passage this way?" "Where does this phrasing come from?" You may sense the answer, but rarely get the chance to put it into your own words. Lesson time is limited, and during solo practice, there's often no one there to sit with that question alongside you.

SORAMI doesn't replace your teacher's guidance. It's built to close that gap, and to support the time you spend practicing alone, between lessons. We hope it makes the time you spend with your teacher even more valuable.

What SORAMI Stands For

The protagonist is always the person
Music is made by people, and felt by people. SORAMI is here to help draw that out.

Closing the gap in access
The quality of music education you receive has always depended on your environment: the teacher you have access to, the resources available to you. SORAMI is built to close that gap.

Paying attention to "why"
Feeling and understanding aren't opposites. Why does this chord move you? Why does this phrase stay with you? We believe that knowing the answer makes what you feel more grounded, more alive. Through dialogue, the ability to ask your own questions grows naturally.

One voice among many
There's no single right answer in music. We hope SORAMI's voice can take its place alongside your own musical instincts and your teacher's guidance, in that order.

Our Mission

To give every music learner both learning they can sustain, and the strength to keep making music.

Our Vision

A world where anyone, regardless of the environment they were born into, can shape their own future. We're working toward a world where dedicated effort leads to the next step forward.
