Pricing & Payment

Q. What plans are available?
A. We offer three plans:

  • Free Plan: One performance analysis only
  • Individual Plan: $9.99/month, up to 20 performance analyses per month
  • Max Plan: $19.99/month, unlimited performance analyses (subject to fair-use limits)

Q. What payment methods are accepted?
A. We accept credit card payments. Depending on your region and device, additional payment methods such as Apple Pay or Amazon Pay may also be available.

A. Yes. Your credit card information is collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor, and never passes through SORAMI's servers. SORAMI does not hold or store your card details.

Q. How do I cancel my plan?
A. You can cancel your paid plan at any time from My Page. If you complete cancellation by 11:59 PM (Japan time) two days before your next renewal date, you will not be charged for the next period.

Q. If I cancel, will my data be deleted?
A. Canceling a paid plan does not delete your account. If you'd like your data fully deleted, you'll need to separately request account deletion.

Q. Can I get a refund?
A. Due to the nature of the Service, amounts already paid are non-refundable regardless of actual usage, except where the Service is discontinued or cancellation is due to SORAMI's own responsibility (in which case unused fees are refunded on a pro-rata basis).

Q. Can I switch plans (upgrade or downgrade)?
A. Yes, you can change plans at any time from My Page. Changes take effect immediately upon completion. If you upgrade, the prorated difference will be added to your next invoice. If you downgrade, the prorated difference will be applied as a credit on your next invoice.

About Performance Analysis

Q. What exactly does the performance analysis tell me?
A. When you upload a performance, you'll receive the following feedback.
(1) Ratings across four categories — Tone & Balance, Tempo Design, Expression & Phrasing, and Technique — shown as a radar chart and five-level bars, giving you a snapshot of where you currently stand.
(2) Your performance's “Strengths,” described in specific terms.
(3) Prioritized “Areas to Improve.”
(4) Your own “Performance Fingerprint” — your tempo tendencies, tone characteristics, and phrasing habits. (5) A concrete practice plan to help you address your priority areas.

Q. What instruments are supported?
A. All instruments are supported.

Q. Can I get any piece of music analyzed?
A. The Service covers classical music works whose copyright protection has expired (i.e., public domain works). If you're unsure about a work's copyright status, you can check it using the “Rights Radar” feature. If we find that a work outside this scope has been used, we may delete the related data or restrict your use of the Service.

Q. Is there a limit on recording length?
A. There is no limit on recording length itself, but uploaded files must be 20MB or smaller. For common audio formats (such as .m4a or .mp3), 20MB is roughly equivalent to 20–30 minutes of recording, so a typical performance should upload without issue.

Q. How long does it take to get analysis results?
A. As a general guide, results are typically shown within about 5 seconds (actual processing time may vary somewhat depending on file size).

Q. Can I look back at past analysis results?
A. Yes. You can view past analysis results at any time from the “Practice Records” section for each registered piece.

Recording & Uploading a Performance

Q. How do I record a performance with SORAMI?
A. You can record your performance on the spot using the “Record” button in the app. Since the recording goes straight into analysis, there's no need to search for where the file is saved or upload it from a separate app.

Q. On iPhone, where should I check if I want to use a performance I've already recorded?
A. If you'd like to use a performance you've already recorded, save and upload it using the steps below. (Note: with SORAMI, you can also record your performance directly in the app.)

  1. Open the built-in “Voice Memos” app and record your performance.
  2. Tap the recording, then tap the “…” (More) button, then “Share.”
  3. From the share menu, choose “Save to Files,” and select a location (either “On My iPhone” or “iCloud Drive”).

Important: By default, recordings made in the Voice Memos app are stored only inside the Voice Memos app itself — they do not automatically appear in the Files app or the Photos app. You must complete the “Save to Files” step above before the recording can be selected during upload to SORAMI.

When the upload screen appears in SORAMI, tap “Choose File,” open the Files app, navigate to the location you saved to (On My iPhone or iCloud Drive), and select the audio file (in .m4a format).

Q. On Android, where should I check if I want to use a performance I've already recorded?
A. If you'd like to use a performance you've already recorded, check the following steps for where it's saved. (Note: with SORAMI, you can also record your performance directly in the app.)

The default voice recording app — and where it saves recordings — varies by device manufacturer (e.g., Samsung, Google Pixel). The general steps are as follows.

  1. Open your device's voice recording app (often called “Recorder” or “Voice Recorder”) and record your performance.
  2. Select the recording and tap the “Share” button.
  3. From the share menu, choose a file manager app (such as “Files” or “My Files”) and save it somewhere easy to find, such as the “Downloads” folder.

On many Android devices, recordings are automatically saved to a folder named “Recordings” or “Voice Recorder” in internal storage. You can also find your recording by opening the “Files” (or “My Files”) app and browsing to that folder.

When the upload screen appears in SORAMI, tap “Choose File,” open your file manager app, and select the saved audio file.

Q. Anything else I should know when recording or uploading?
A. A few notes:

  • Performances recorded in SORAMI, and performances you upload, are not retained on SORAMI's servers after AI analysis is complete.
  • If you upload a file, supported formats are MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WebM, MP4, and MOV.

Q. Do I need to enter the exact title of the piece?
A. SORAMI's analysis is based on the song title you submit. If the title you enter doesn't match the piece you actually performed, we won't be able to provide accurate results. To ensure accurate analysis, please always enter a title that matches what you performed.

AI Accuracy & Reliability

Q. Does SORAMI's AI grade my performance or provide a single correct answer?
A. No. Think of SORAMI's AI as offering the perspective of one individual teacher. Musical interpretation and expression rarely have a single “correct” answer — different teachers often have different opinions. SORAMI's feedback should be treated the same way: as one perspective among many. We recommend using it alongside input from other teachers, fellow performers, and your own musical judgment as you practice.

Q. How accurate is the AI's analysis?
A. AI-generated analysis and feedback are intended for use as reference information only, and their accuracy or completeness is not guaranteed. Please use your own judgment when making final decisions.

Q. Can using SORAMI help me win competitions or advance a professional career?
A. The Service is intended to support your learning and does not guarantee outcomes such as competition results or professional career advancement.

Privacy & Data Handling

Q. Is my recorded audio saved by SORAMI?
A. No. Uploaded performances are sent temporarily to our AI model providers (Anthropic, Google) for analysis only, and are not stored in SORAMI's databases or storage.

Q. Is my performance data used to train AI models?
A. No. Your performance data (inputs and outputs) is not used to train or improve any AI models.

Q. How is my personal information handled?
A. Please see our Privacy Policy.

System Requirements & Technical Questions

Q. Do I need to download an app?
A. No. SORAMI is a web-based service accessible through your browser (app.sorami-music.com). No app installation is required.

Q. What browsers are supported?
A. We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

Q. Can I use SORAMI offline?
A. No, an internet connection is required to use SORAMI.
